Cosmetic Surgery

Poem help ?? !?

Okay well I am in grade nine, and I am
currently working on my C.p.t, it is on how young
girls turn to cosmetic surgery due to negative effects
from the media (i.e celebs). As part of my C.p.t I have to find a
poem that deals with my topic. Does anyone know a good poem about girls who feel the pressure to be perfect, girls with body insecurities, turning to surgeries, or trying to fit in.
I know it’s not an easy one to find poems on but it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, this doesn’t quite cover the surgery issue but this Janis Ian song is a very powerful comment.
Joni Mitchel does a very good version of it if you can find it.

And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire

Repenting other lives unknown
