Cosmetic Surgery Louisiana

what do u study to get into cosmetic surgery after college?
how many years of school would this take?
what are some good schools for this in louisiana?
on average what would this cost?
If you are interested in being a cosmetic surgeon, you will need a B.A./B.S., and then of course a degree in medicine. All cosmetic surgeons (except a select few involved in cosmetic oral surgery) are medical doctors.
So, in order to get into medical school, you will need:
-Your undergraduate degree (can be in anything, but you will need to have certain science pre-requisites such as biology, physiology and chemistry–this will vary depending on the med school you apply to)
-A good undergrad GPA
-Also you need to take the MCAT…which is the medical school entrance exam
Med school is generally 4 years, then your residency before you can go into a specialization. It is a good idea to express you interest in cosmetic surgery and pay close attention during the surgical rotation. Also your school can put you in touch with clinics that offer surgical fellowships where you can learn in more detail.
Cost is probably about 150K (you will need student loans) and sometimes more. Depends on school…
Hope this helps! Good luck!
