cosmetic surgery alabama
Mothers, Parents, please help. Is this normal?

My aunt has been entering her daughter in beauty pagents. She is that prototypical ‘pageant mom’. However some of her actions scare me. Her daughter is only 4 years old and she dresses her in some outfits that shouldn’t be on a teenager. However, last week she had eyeliner tatooed on her eyelids. Many of our family members scolded her for this, but she insisted its okay and it isn’t permanent, and it will help her win. Now, she is seeking a doctor who will perfom a nose job on ‘Haley’ (I have changed the name to protect her). At first doctors told her she was crazy, but then she found someone in Alabama that will do it, and this doctor told her it is not that uncommon to do cosmetic surgery on small children. Let me be clear, this is strictly a cosmetic procedure. I’m afraid that it will not stop at a nose job. Who knows whats next. She already has Haley use the tanning bed once a week. Is this crazy, or just par for the course for the child pageant circuit?

Well, who of us can define if it is normal or not. Sadly, I do not agree with it, but it is not my child, and not my place to judge her.
People can screw up their kids however they want, and again, we as a society cannot do anything to stop them.
Your aunt is extreme, but in the pagent world, those moms do some seriously messed up things to their kids. Its not illegal though, and therefore not considered to be neglectful.
